Bakersfield Strays Dog Rescue Success Stories
Dog rescue success stories. The profiles below feature dogs that have been adopted by a loving family or placed with an animal rescue partner. If a dog is with a rescue partner, they may still need a permanent home. If you’re interested in adopting one of these dogs, we’re happy to provide more information on a specific dog or connect you with our adoption partner. If you need some additional information on how to care for your rescue dog you can check out some of our blogs about nurturing their health.
LANA

Name: LANA
Age: 18 m
Sex: Female
Weight: 35
Breed: Malinois mix
Reproductive: Spayed
Vaccinations: Fully Vaccinated
Microchipped: Yes
My Story:
Lana is one of ten puppies born to Rhianna shortly after they were saved from a desolate field. The conditions were harsh, with freezing temperatures and thick fog, leaving nothing but barren land for miles. Thankfully, we managed to rescue them, and Lana found a loving home in April 2024. Unfortunately, she has been returned to Bakersfield Strays through no fault of her own.
About Me:
This sweet girl is crate trained and enjoys playing with her toys. She is fully potty trained, very playful with both people and other dogs, and gets along well with children. While she loves to have fun, she also knows how to relax. Lana would thrive in a home with a yard, as she adores running around outside. This sweet, precious girl is eager to find her forever family to grow up with.
My Status: Adopted

Rescue Partners
One of the most critical needs for our team are partners with the ability to help house Bakersfield Strays dogs upon being picked up. We have limited space and ability to hold them for long periods of time and our expertise is more generally suited for partnerships with larger private adoption agencies that can become a liaison between us and the forever homes of the dogs. We do have a process for becoming a partner that ensures they are going to remain happy and healthy in loving homes. If you are interested in helping us overcome this crisis and you have the ability to facilitate the adoption process n our behalf, please apply to become one of our valued partners. You can find the steps to doing so at the link below.
