Bakersfield Strays Dog Rescue Success Stories
Dog rescue success stories. The profiles below feature dogs that have been adopted by a loving family or placed with an animal rescue partner. If a dog is with a rescue partner, they may still need a permanent home. If you’re interested in adopting one of these dogs, we’re happy to provide more information on a specific dog or connect you with our adoption partner. If you need some additional information on how to care for your rescue dog you can check out some of our blogs about nurturing their health.
BEAR

Name: BEAR
Age: 2
Sex: Male
Weight: 55
Breed: Rottie Mix
Reproductive: Neutered
Vaccinations: Fully Vaccinated
Microchipped: Yes
My Story:
Bear was seen with three other dogs in a remote area on the Southeast side of Bakersfield. The following day, he was spotted again, this time with one of the dogs, an Australian Shepherd we named Scout, near the Arco Station on Taft Highway. They had traveled quite a distance from their original location, raising our concerns due to the heavy traffic on the highway. Fortunately, we were able to secure both dogs, who were unfortunately infested with ticks. Despite their condition, we felt relieved to have rescued them from the dangers of speeding vehicles.
About Me:
Bear is an incredibly friendly and sociable dog who gets along well with his fellow canines. He walks nicely on a leash and is quick to respond to commands, showcasing his attentive nature. We are confident that Bear would make a devoted and affectionate companion for anyone ready to welcome him into their home.
My Status: Adopted

Rescue Partners
One of the most critical needs for our team are partners with the ability to help house Bakersfield Strays dogs upon being picked up. We have limited space and ability to hold them for long periods of time and our expertise is more generally suited for partnerships with larger private adoption agencies that can become a liaison between us and the forever homes of the dogs. We do have a process for becoming a partner that ensures they are going to remain happy and healthy in loving homes. If you are interested in helping us overcome this crisis and you have the ability to facilitate the adoption process n our behalf, please apply to become one of our valued partners. You can find the steps to doing so at the link below.
