CATO

Name: CATO
Age: 5 M
Sex: Male
Weight: 24
Breed: German Shepherd Mix
Reproductive: Not Fixed
Vaccinations: Needs Shots
Microchipped: No
My Story:
Upon our visit to a regular property, where the owner has numerous dogs, we encountered a heartbreaking sight: a young male German Shepherd mix confined in a kennel, exposed to the relentless heat without any shade, and surrounded by filth, dirty water and old food. His desperate cries for affection resonated deeply with us, highlighting his urgent need for care and compassion. Unfortunately, at that moment, we lacked the resources to rescue him. However, on Thursday, one of our dedicated regular feeders returned to the site and immediately took action to save this vulnerable dog, whom we later named Cato. Within just a few hours, a rescue operation was successfully organized, along with transportation arrangements to ensure Cato’s safe passage to a better life.
About Me:
Cato is an adorable young puppy, brimming with sweetness and an insatiable desire for love and companionship. With his big, expressive eyes and wagging tail, he radiates warmth and joy, eagerly seeking out affection from anyone willing to give it His longing for connection is palpable, and he thrives on the attention and care he receives.

Rescue Partners
One of the most critical needs for our team are partners with the ability to help house Bakersfield Strays dogs upon being picked up. We have limited space and ability to hold them for long periods of time and our expertise is more generally suited for partnerships with larger private adoption agencies that can become a liaison between us and the forever homes of the dogs. We do have a process for becoming a partner that ensures they are going to remain happy and healthy in loving homes. If you are interested in helping us overcome this crisis and you have the ability to facilitate the adoption process n our behalf, please apply to become one of our valued partners. You can find the steps to doing so at the link below.
