Bakersfield Strays Dog Rescue Success Stories
Dog rescue success stories. The profiles below feature dogs that have been adopted by a loving family or placed with an animal rescue partner. If a dog is with a rescue partner, they may still need a permanent home. If you’re interested in adopting one of these dogs, we’re happy to provide more information on a specific dog or connect you with our adoption partner. If you need some additional information on how to care for your rescue dog you can check out some of our blogs about nurturing their health.
GENEVA

Name: GENEVA
Age: 12 M
Sex: Female
Weight: 40
Breed: Shepherd Mix
Reproductive: Spayed
Vaccinations: Fully Vaccinated
Microchipped: Yes
My Story:
We received an urgent text detailing the plight of (8) abandoned furry companions left in a desolate area. Geneva and her siblings were found emaciated and terrified, and left vulnerable to relentless heat, and lurking predators like coyotes.
Despite the overwhelming odds stacked against us—an absence of resources, and a lack of rescue organizations to turn to—we could not simply stand by. Instead, we rallied together, driven by compassion and determination, embarking on a mission that seems impossible and saved Geneva and her siblings.
About Me:
Despite being the runt of the litter, Geneva was a strong little warrior who grew up healthy. After overcoming a challenging battle with Giardia, she has made an impressive recovery and is now thriving in her foster home. This affectionate furry lady has a playful spirit, often engaging in lively games with other dogs. She enjoys frolicking in the yard, and loves the affection and warmth she receives from her foster. Her loving personality will maker her a wonderful addition to any family in search of a lifelong companion.
My Status: Adopted

Rescue Partners
One of the most critical needs for our team are partners with the ability to help house Bakersfield Strays dogs upon being picked up. We have limited space and ability to hold them for long periods of time and our expertise is more generally suited for partnerships with larger private adoption agencies that can become a liaison between us and the forever homes of the dogs. We do have a process for becoming a partner that ensures they are going to remain happy and healthy in loving homes. If you are interested in helping us overcome this crisis and you have the ability to facilitate the adoption process n our behalf, please apply to become one of our valued partners. You can find the steps to doing so at the link below.
