My Story:
Juliet was first seen in January 2024, wandering the fields with her Doberman companion, both lost and far from town without food or water. To help them, a feeding station was established since they wouldn’t come close enough for capture. They would roam and often remain unseen for weeks or even months, but we persisted in providing food. Eventually, both were spotted again, and fortunately, Juliet approached close enough to be secured, but her friend would not follow. It was heartbreaking to leave him behind, but we couldn’t risk losing Juliet and not being able to find them again. Juliet was taken to a foster home over five miles away from where she was found. We attempted to trap her friend, but he wouldn’t enter the trap. There was a moment of panic when Juliet escaped from her foster home, and we feared we would never see her again. Miraculously, she eventually found her way back to her friend after several months. However, neither of them came close enough for a while. We set traps again, and Juliet was secured once more, but her Doberman companion still refused to enter the trap. We are continuing our efforts to ensure his safety.
About Me:
About me:
Juliet developed a skin condition during her time in the fields, leaving her in quite a state. The experience has certainly affected her well-being. Right now, she is receiving the care she needs to recover. Juliet is a lovely and gentle soul who truly deserves a forever home where she will be cherished and never left behind again.
My Status: Fostered

Rescue Partners
One of the most critical needs for our team are partners with the ability to help house Bakersfield Strays dogs upon being picked up. We have limited space and ability to hold them for long periods of time and our expertise is more generally suited for partnerships with larger private adoption agencies that can become a liaison between us and the forever homes of the dogs. We do have a process for becoming a partner that ensures they are going to remain happy and healthy in loving homes. If you are interested in helping us overcome this crisis and you have the ability to facilitate the adoption process n our behalf, please apply to become one of our valued partners. You can find the steps to doing so at the link below.
