Bakersfield Strays Dog Rescue Success Stories
Dog rescue success stories. The profiles below feature dogs that have been adopted by a loving family or placed with an animal rescue partner. If a dog is with a rescue partner, they may still need a permanent home. If you’re interested in adopting one of these dogs, we’re happy to provide more information on a specific dog or connect you with our adoption partner. If you need some additional information on how to care for your rescue dog you can check out some of our blogs about nurturing their health.
Trixie
Name: Trixie
Age: 18 months
Sex: Female
Weight: 46
Breed: Shepherd/Husky mix
Reproductive: Spayed
Vaccinations: Fully Vaccinated
Microchipped: Yes
My Story:
Trixie was found dumped in a remote area of Bakersfield with her three babies. She was found by our Team while out feeding the abandoned dogs on our feeding route. Trixie was very friendly and came right to us. She was ready to be rescued and got right in the car.
About Me:
Trixie is the sweetest, most special little girl. She loves everyone she meets and gets along well with other dogs. Trixie is currently fostered with three other large dogs, and she does great with them. She sleeps quietly in her crate at night and loves lounging on her bed. She loves playing fetch with the ball and carrying squeaky plush toys around in her mouth. Most of all, Trixie loves being with people, getting love, and giving kisses. She is a truly amazing dog who is easily corrected and very responsive to training. She’s also gorgeous, with stunning blue eyes! Trixie would love nothing more than to go on a little adventure with you and then snuggle up with you when you get home! Trixie is ready for her forever home.
My Status: Adopted
Thank you to Bark n’ Bitches for taking sweet Trixie

Rescue Partners
One of the most critical needs for our team are partners with the ability to help house Bakersfield Strays dogs upon being picked up. We have limited space and ability to hold them for long periods of time and our expertise is more generally suited for partnerships with larger private adoption agencies that can become a liaison between us and the forever homes of the dogs. We do have a process for becoming a partner that ensures they are going to remain happy and healthy in loving homes. If you are interested in helping us overcome this crisis and you have the ability to facilitate the adoption process n our behalf, please apply to become one of our valued partners. You can find the steps to doing so at the link below.
