Bakersfield Strays Dog Rescue Success Stories
Dog rescue success stories. The profiles below feature dogs that have been adopted by a loving family or placed with an animal rescue partner. If a dog is with a rescue partner, they may still need a permanent home. If you’re interested in adopting one of these dogs, we’re happy to provide more information on a specific dog or connect you with our adoption partner. If you need some additional information on how to care for your rescue dog you can check out some of our blogs about nurturing their health.
OREO
Name: OREO
Age: 18 m
Sex: Female
Weight: 15
Breed: Flat Coated Retriever
Reproductive: Spayed
Vaccinations: Fully Vaccinated
My Story:
This little one was in the same area for 6 months. She was being fed by a Good Samaritan. We were alerted that she needed trapped and were able to waste and successfully secure her. She was finally out of the field where there was no sheltering for her.
About Me:
Oreo is very friendly, even after being on her own for so long. She loves being around people and will be the best little friend to anyone. She has lots of love to give.
My Status: Adopted

Rescue Partners
One of the most critical needs for our team are partners with the ability to help house Bakersfield Strays dogs upon being picked up. We have limited space and ability to hold them for long periods of time and our expertise is more generally suited for partnerships with larger private adoption agencies that can become a liaison between us and the forever homes of the dogs. We do have a process for becoming a partner that ensures they are going to remain happy and healthy in loving homes. If you are interested in helping us overcome this crisis and you have the ability to facilitate the adoption process n our behalf, please apply to become one of our valued partners. You can find the steps to doing so at the link below.
