Bakersfield Strays Dog Rescue Success Stories
Dog rescue success stories. The profiles below feature dogs that have been adopted by a loving family or placed with an animal rescue partner. If a dog is with a rescue partner, they may still need a permanent home. If you’re interested in adopting one of these dogs, we’re happy to provide more information on a specific dog or connect you with our adoption partner. If you need some additional information on how to care for your rescue dog you can check out some of our blogs about nurturing their health.
CLYDE
Name: CLYDE
Age: 15 m
Sex: Male
Weight: 40
Breed: Staffordshire Terrier
Reproductive: Neutered
Vaccinations: Fully Vaccinated
My Story:
Clyde was found abandoned with his companion in a notorious well-known area for dumping animals. Both were scared and confused, hesitant to approach anyone for help. When harvesters moved through the orchards, they fled in fear, leaving us worried that they might be lost or, even worse, harmed. Fortunately, they reappeared weeks later, presenting us with an opportunity to capture them.
Clyde had a visible injury on his front leg, which we suspected was due likely from being struck by a vehicle, and he clearly needed immediate medical attention. After several hours of dedicated effort, we managed to trap them and bring them to safety.
About Me:
Clyde is incredibly gentle and serene.
His affectionate nature shines through, making him the sweetest boy, despite his broken front leg. He walks well on a leash and gets along nicely with other dogs.
He truly is a treasure and will undoubtedly become a fantastic new best friend.
My Status: Adopted

Rescue Partners
One of the most critical needs for our team are partners with the ability to help house Bakersfield Strays dogs upon being picked up. We have limited space and ability to hold them for long periods of time and our expertise is more generally suited for partnerships with larger private adoption agencies that can become a liaison between us and the forever homes of the dogs. We do have a process for becoming a partner that ensures they are going to remain happy and healthy in loving homes. If you are interested in helping us overcome this crisis and you have the ability to facilitate the adoption process n our behalf, please apply to become one of our valued partners. You can find the steps to doing so at the link below.
