Bakersfield Strays Dog Rescue Success Stories
Dog rescue success stories. The profiles below feature dogs that have been adopted by a loving family or placed with an animal rescue partner. If a dog is with a rescue partner, they may still need a permanent home. If you’re interested in adopting one of these dogs, we’re happy to provide more information on a specific dog or connect you with our adoption partner. BUTTERCUP
Name: BUTTERCUP
Age: 7 Years Old
Sex: Female
Weight: 50 lbs
Breed: American Bully
Reproductive: Spayed
Vaccinations: Fully Vaccinated
Microchipped: Yes
My Story:
Spotted by a passerby off the 58 freeway in the Tehachapi mountains. We were notified and set trap off the roadway in the hills where spotted. She is a lucky girl that we were able to secure her. The temperatures were close to freezing. She was emaciated and beat up.
About Me:
Buttercup is an extremely affectionate girl that wants to be with you at all times. She loves to sleep in bed with you but not required. She is currently in a home with another dog, but her ideal family would be as the only dog in the home. Buttercup has blossomed into the loveliest sweetheart. She is ready for her forever home that can spoil her.
My Status: Adopted

Rescue Partners
One of the most critical needs for our team are partners with the ability to help house Bakersfield Strays dogs upon being picked up. We have limited space and ability to hold them for long periods of time and our expertise is more generally suited for partnerships with larger private adoption agencies that can become a liaison between us and the forever homes of the dogs. We do have a process for becoming a partner that ensures they are going to remain happy and healthy in loving homes. If you are interested in helping us overcome this crisis and you have the ability to facilitate the adoption process n our behalf, please apply to become one of our valued partners. You can find the steps to doing so at the link below.
