Bakersfield Strays Dog Rescue Success Stories
Dog rescue success stories. The profiles below feature dogs that have been adopted by a loving family or placed with an animal rescue partner. If a dog is with a rescue partner, they may still need a permanent home. If you’re interested in adopting one of these dogs, we’re happy to provide more information on a specific dog or connect you with our adoption partner. If you need some additional information on how to care for your rescue dog you can check out some of our blogs about nurturing their health.
SIMBA
Name: SIMBA
Age: 8 w
Sex: Male
Weight: 5 pounds
Breed: Small mixed breed
Reproductive: Neutered
Vaccinations: Fully Vaccinated
Microchipped: Yes
My Story:
Simba was found with his sister in a box in a remote area of Bakersfield. These pups were both very young and would not have survived. We were able to take them in and get them safe.
About Me:
Simba is a small little guy. He is very mellow, calm, loves to be held & cuddled, and very easy to fall in love with! He likes to play with his sibling Nala but enjoys quiet quality time sniffing around in the backyard or just hanging out with the foster family. He does well in the crate during the night even though he will whine at first until he sees/feels people in the room. He is currently in the process of being potty trained. He responds well to “come, sit and stop” which earns him a lot of treats.
My Status: Adopted
Private adoption

Rescue Partners
One of the most critical needs for our team are partners with the ability to help house Bakersfield Strays dogs upon being picked up. We have limited space and ability to hold them for long periods of time and our expertise is more generally suited for partnerships with larger private adoption agencies that can become a liaison between us and the forever homes of the dogs. We do have a process for becoming a partner that ensures they are going to remain happy and healthy in loving homes. If you are interested in helping us overcome this crisis and you have the ability to facilitate the adoption process n our behalf, please apply to become one of our valued partners. You can find the steps to doing so at the link below.
