Bakersfield Strays Dog Rescue Success Stories
Dog rescue success stories. The profiles below feature dogs that have been adopted by a loving family or placed with an animal rescue partner. If a dog is with a rescue partner, they may still need a permanent home. If you’re interested in adopting one of these dogs, we’re happy to provide more information on a specific dog or connect you with our adoption partner. If you need some additional information on how to care for your rescue dog you can check out some of our blogs about nurturing their health.
ALFIE

Name: ALFIE
Age: 2 Years Old
Sex: Male
Weight: 65 lbs
Breed: Boxer Mix
Reproductive: Neutered
Vaccinations: Fully Vaccinated
Microchipped: Yes
My Story:
We found Alfie all on his own, tired, and hungry in the cold orchards of Bakersfield. He looked underweight and was visibly weak. We felt so bad for him because he had a severely injured leg, but he still came right up to us to the best of his ability and let us help him — a sign he is used to being around people.
About Me:
Alfie was able to receive his much-needed surgery to repair his injured leg. He is completely healed and ready for his new home. He likes to chew on his toys and spends a lot of time running and playing. He is people friendly and very outgoing! Get a ball for him and he will happily play catch with you for hours. Alfie would need to be the only dog in the home. He sometimes doesn’t know his size so would do best with older children and adults.
My Status: Adopted
Private adoption

Rescue Partners
One of the most critical needs for our team are partners with the ability to help house Bakersfield Strays dogs upon being picked up. We have limited space and ability to hold them for long periods of time and our expertise is more generally suited for partnerships with larger private adoption agencies that can become a liaison between us and the forever homes of the dogs. We do have a process for becoming a partner that ensures they are going to remain happy and healthy in loving homes. If you are interested in helping us overcome this crisis and you have the ability to facilitate the adoption process n our behalf, please apply to become one of our valued partners. You can find the steps to doing so at the link below.
