Bakersfield Strays Dog Rescue Success Stories
Dog rescue success stories. The profiles below feature dogs that have been adopted by a loving family or placed with an animal rescue partner. If a dog is with a rescue partner, they may still need a permanent home. If you’re interested in adopting one of these dogs, we’re happy to provide more information on a specific dog or connect you with our adoption partner. If you need some additional information on how to care for your rescue dog you can check out some of our blogs about nurturing their health.
5 Shelter Babies

Name: 5 Shelter Babies
Age: 6 w
Sex: Female
Weight: 5
Breed: Shepherd mix
Vaccinations: Unknown
My Story:
The shelter reached out for these five babies that were found abandoned in Shafter California in a park. They were scheduled to be euthanized in only 1.5 hours. We were able to pull the dogs from the shelter and get them to foster, only to find out they were very sick. One had tested positive for parvo and another test came back positive for Coccidia. Three puppies did not survive even after going to the vet and receiving medical care.
About Me:
The two remaining survivors are doing very well and thriving. They are expected to not only survive but do very well as they are almost completely recovered and growing into happy healthy puppies.
My Status: Adopted

Rescue Partners
One of the most critical needs for our team are partners with the ability to help house Bakersfield Strays dogs upon being picked up. We have limited space and ability to hold them for long periods of time and our expertise is more generally suited for partnerships with larger private adoption agencies that can become a liaison between us and the forever homes of the dogs. We do have a process for becoming a partner that ensures they are going to remain happy and healthy in loving homes. If you are interested in helping us overcome this crisis and you have the ability to facilitate the adoption process n our behalf, please apply to become one of our valued partners. You can find the steps to doing so at the link below.
