Bakersfield Strays Dog Rescue Success Stories
Dog rescue success stories. The profiles below feature dogs that have been adopted by a loving family or placed with an animal rescue partner. If a dog is with a rescue partner, they may still need a permanent home. If you’re interested in adopting one of these dogs, we’re happy to provide more information on a specific dog or connect you with our adoption partner. If you need some additional information on how to care for your rescue dog you can check out some of our blogs about nurturing their health.
PEBBLES 10 BABIES
Name: PEBBLES 10 BABIES
Age: 1 week
Sex: Male
Weight: 2
Breed: Pyranees mix
My Story:
Pebbles gave birth to 10 babies in a pile of lumber and rubble. The puppies had to be pulled out from under the pile of debris and wood. Mom had hidden them very well and took some work in trying to locate them. We had just finished having a terrible rainstorm and we knew getting them safe as soon as possible was vital.
About Me:
One baby did not survive and there are 9 remaining puppies, one female and 8 males. They are all black and white and absolutely adorable. They look like little mini cows.
My Status: Adopted
Thank you South Coast Humane Society

Rescue Partners
One of the most critical needs for our team are partners with the ability to help house Bakersfield Strays dogs upon being picked up. We have limited space and ability to hold them for long periods of time and our expertise is more generally suited for partnerships with larger private adoption agencies that can become a liaison between us and the forever homes of the dogs. We do have a process for becoming a partner that ensures they are going to remain happy and healthy in loving homes. If you are interested in helping us overcome this crisis and you have the ability to facilitate the adoption process n our behalf, please apply to become one of our valued partners. You can find the steps to doing so at the link below.
