Bakersfield Strays Dog Rescue Success Stories
Dog rescue success stories. The profiles below feature dogs that have been adopted by a loving family or placed with an animal rescue partner. If a dog is with a rescue partner, they may still need a permanent home. If you’re interested in adopting one of these dogs, we’re happy to provide more information on a specific dog or connect you with our adoption partner. If you need some additional information on how to care for your rescue dog you can check out some of our blogs about nurturing their health.
MAGGIE
Name: MAGGIE
Age: 14 M
Sex: Female
Weight: 40
Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier
Reproductive: Spayed
Vaccinations: Fully Vaccinated
Microchipped: Yes
My Story:
Maggie was found while out on our feeding route. She was hunkered down in the weeds of the field, scared and lost. When we pulled over, she came running for rescue. Full of love and kisses. An absolute sweetheart. We could not leave her out there with all coyotes, we knew she would be killed. We were unable to secure a foster at a moment’s notice, and the shelter was the temporary option. We put our names on her to ensure she would stay safe while we worked to secure a rescue. She will not be coyote food, and we will ensure she gets out and finds a wonderful happy ever after.
About Me:
Maggie is the sweetest and most loving little nugget. She is super people friendly and loves everyone. She does great with other dogs and will make a wonderful addition to a family that will commit to her for life. Even after all she endured, she is just the happiest little girl. She loves to ride in the car and give lots of kisses.

Rescue Partners
One of the most critical needs for our team are partners with the ability to help house Bakersfield Strays dogs upon being picked up. We have limited space and ability to hold them for long periods of time and our expertise is more generally suited for partnerships with larger private adoption agencies that can become a liaison between us and the forever homes of the dogs. We do have a process for becoming a partner that ensures they are going to remain happy and healthy in loving homes. If you are interested in helping us overcome this crisis and you have the ability to facilitate the adoption process n our behalf, please apply to become one of our valued partners. You can find the steps to doing so at the link below.
