My Story:
Bakersfield Strays was notified about an abandoned dog wandering in a foxtail-infested field near the Breckenridge area of Bakersfield, CA. The rescue proved challenging; initially, the dog was hidden from view, and when we finally spotted her, she was darting through the street in fear, nearly colliding with passing vehicles. After exercising patience, we managed to catch her, only to be devastated by her condition as she was severely emaciated and infested with ticks.
About Me:
Tess is an affectionate young pup who adores both people and other dogs. She delights in playing in the yard and loves nothing more than a good belly rub. Currently on the lookout for her forever home, Tess promises to be a devoted and loving companion to whoever is lucky enough to adopt her.
My Status: Adopted

Rescue Partners
One of the most critical needs for our team are partners with the ability to help house Bakersfield Strays dogs upon being picked up. We have limited space and ability to hold them for long periods of time and our expertise is more generally suited for partnerships with larger private adoption agencies that can become a liaison between us and the forever homes of the dogs. We do have a process for becoming a partner that ensures they are going to remain happy and healthy in loving homes. If you are interested in helping us overcome this crisis and you have the ability to facilitate the adoption process n our behalf, please apply to become one of our valued partners. You can find the steps to doing so at the link below.
