Bakersfield Strays Dog Rescue Success Stories
Dog rescue success stories. The profiles below feature dogs that have been adopted by a loving family or placed with an animal rescue partner. If a dog is with a rescue partner, they may still need a permanent home. If you’re interested in adopting one of these dogs, we’re happy to provide more information on a specific dog or connect you with our adoption partner. If you need some additional information on how to care for your rescue dog you can check out some of our blogs about nurturing their health.
SCOUT
Name: SCOUT
Age: 18 M
Sex: Male
Weight: 30
Breed: Beagle Mix
Reproductive: Neutered
Vaccinations: Fully Vaccinated
Microchipped: Yes
My Story:
Scout survived on the streets and in the fields of Bakersfield for more than 6 months, pretty much in the middle of nowhere. This little guy survived on his own, but sadly had been hit by a car the day before he was finally rescued. He had an injured leg and what we thought was an abscess in his neck. His leg healed well, but his neck turned out to something more serious involving damage to a salivary gland, and we are working to get him the surgery he needs for that. The surgery is expected to fully resolve this problem with no ongoing medical needs..
About Me:
Despite all Scout has been through, he is an incredibly sweet and loving little boy. Scout is a 4 year old beagle mix and just under 30 pounds. Scout is wonderful with other dogs. He is currently fostered with 3 large German Shepherds and even hits play pose with all 3 at once. Scout is potty trained and has incredible doggy manners and a gentle mouth. Scout loves attention and would be happy curling up with you on the couch, but he is also just fine in his kennel or chilling on his dog bed. Scout is an amazing and loyal companion just waiting for his forever family to find him.
My Status: Adopted

Rescue Partners
One of the most critical needs for our team are partners with the ability to help house Bakersfield Strays dogs upon being picked up. We have limited space and ability to hold them for long periods of time and our expertise is more generally suited for partnerships with larger private adoption agencies that can become a liaison between us and the forever homes of the dogs. We do have a process for becoming a partner that ensures they are going to remain happy and healthy in loving homes. If you are interested in helping us overcome this crisis and you have the ability to facilitate the adoption process n our behalf, please apply to become one of our valued partners. You can find the steps to doing so at the link below.
