Bakersfield Strays Dog Rescue Success Stories
Dog rescue success stories. The profiles below feature dogs that have been adopted by a loving family or placed with an animal rescue partner. If a dog is with a rescue partner, they may still need a permanent home. If you’re interested in adopting one of these dogs, we’re happy to provide more information on a specific dog or connect you with our adoption partner. CLAIRE

Name: CLAIRE
Age: 3
Sex: Female
Weight: 60
Breed: Mountain Cur Mix
Reproductive: Spayed
Vaccinations: Fully Vaccinated
Microchipped: Yes
My Story:
Claire was discovered in a harrowing situation, wandering alone in Wasco, perilously crossing busy streets and narrowly avoiding collisions with vehicles. A tight rope was cruelly fastened around her neck, and her frail body revealed the extent of her neglect and suffering. As fate would have it, one of our dedicated feeders happened to be driving in the area when they spotted her. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, she quickly turned to social media to rally support and seek help in rescuing Claire. Thanks to the swift action and compassion of the community, she was successfully saved later that day, escaping the grim fate that so many abandoned animals face.
About Me:
Claire is a lovable dog who is currently in need of some extra weight, but her sweet disposition shines through despite this challenge. She has a warm and friendly nature, making her an ideal companion for both adults and children alike. Her gentle demeanor and affectionate personality suggest that she would thrive in a loving home, where she can receive the attention and care she deserves. Claire’s sociability not only makes her a wonderful pet but also positions her as a fantastic candidate for adoption or rescue. With the right environment and nurturing, she has the potential to flourish and bring joy to her new family.

Rescue Partners
One of the most critical needs for our team are partners with the ability to help house Bakersfield Strays dogs upon being picked up. We have limited space and ability to hold them for long periods of time and our expertise is more generally suited for partnerships with larger private adoption agencies that can become a liaison between us and the forever homes of the dogs. We do have a process for becoming a partner that ensures they are going to remain happy and healthy in loving homes. If you are interested in helping us overcome this crisis and you have the ability to facilitate the adoption process n our behalf, please apply to become one of our valued partners. You can find the steps to doing so at the link below.
