Bakersfield Strays Dog Rescue Success Stories

Dog rescue success stories. The profiles below feature dogs that have been adopted by a loving family or placed with an animal rescue partner. If a dog is with a rescue partner, they may still need a permanent home. If you’re interested in adopting one of these dogs, we’re happy to provide more information on a specific dog or connect you with our adoption partner. If you need some additional information on how to care for your rescue dog you can check out some of our blogs about nurturing their health.

My Story:

Gia was discovered abandoned in a well-known dumping site in East Bakersfield, California. A farmer secured her, providing her with a temporary refuge on his property. However, her new life was far from ideal; she was left tethered, exposed to the elements without any shade, and her interactions with humans were limited to the brief visits from our dedicated feeders who brought her food and care. Fortunately, her story caught the attention of a kind-hearted individual who saw our post about her plight and felt compelled to adopt her, offering Gia the chance for a brighter future filled with love and security.

About Me:

This timid yet affectionate furry girl is on a heartfelt journey to rediscover trust in humans. Having experienced uncertainty in the past, this sweet soul exhibits a cautious demeanor. However, beneath that skittish exterior lies a gentle spirit eager for connection.

My Status: Adopted

Rescue Partners

One of the most critical needs for our team are partners with the ability to help house Bakersfield Strays dogs upon being picked up. We have limited space and ability to hold them for long periods of time and our expertise is more generally suited for partnerships with larger private adoption agencies that can become a liaison between us and the forever homes of the dogs. We do have a process for becoming a partner that ensures they are going to remain happy and healthy in loving homes. If you are interested in helping us overcome this crisis and you have the ability to facilitate the adoption process n our behalf, please apply to become one of our valued partners. You can find the steps to doing so at the link below.
