Bakersfield Strays Dog Rescue Success Stories
Dog rescue success stories. The profiles below feature dogs that have been adopted by a loving family or placed with an animal rescue partner. If a dog is with a rescue partner, they may still need a permanent home. If you’re interested in adopting one of these dogs, we’re happy to provide more information on a specific dog or connect you with our adoption partner. ROSIE

Name: ROSIE
Age: 2
Sex: Female
Weight: 35
Breed: Queensland Heeler Mix
Reproductive: Spayed
Vaccinations: Fully Vaccinated
Microchipped: Yes
My Story:
Rosie was discovered near the 99 Freeway, wandering alone in a field with a noticeable injury to her back leg. The sight of her, frail and frightened, tugged at the hearts of those who passed by, yet she remained elusive, too terrified to approach anyone. Days turned into weeks as we worked tirelessly to gain her trust, setting up a trap in hopes of securing her safety. Finally, after a prolonged period of patience and gentle coaxing, Rosie was caught and brought to a place where she could begin her healing journey, free from the fears that had once held her captive.
About Me:
Rosie may be a bit timid, but she is an affectionate and gentle soul who thrives in the company of dogs of all shapes and sizes. Her cautious nature reflects her sensitivity, yet beneath that shyness lies a deep desire for connection and the warmth of human companionship. With a little patience and tender loving care, Rosie is sure to blossom, revealing her true personality and becoming a cherished member of a nurturing household. Her journey towards confidence will be a rewarding experience for anyone willing to invest the time and love she needs to feel secure and happy.

Rescue Partners
One of the most critical needs for our team are partners with the ability to help house Bakersfield Strays dogs upon being picked up. We have limited space and ability to hold them for long periods of time and our expertise is more generally suited for partnerships with larger private adoption agencies that can become a liaison between us and the forever homes of the dogs. We do have a process for becoming a partner that ensures they are going to remain happy and healthy in loving homes. If you are interested in helping us overcome this crisis and you have the ability to facilitate the adoption process n our behalf, please apply to become one of our valued partners. You can find the steps to doing so at the link below.
