Bakersfield Strays Dog Rescue Success Stories
Dog rescue success stories. The profiles below feature dogs that have been adopted by a loving family or placed with an animal rescue partner. If a dog is with a rescue partner, they may still need a permanent home. If you’re interested in adopting one of these dogs, we’re happy to provide more information on a specific dog or connect you with our adoption partner. If you need some additional information on how to care for your rescue dog you can check out some of our blogs about nurturing their health.
ELLA

Name: ELLA
Age: 2
Sex: Female
Weight: 47
Breed: Shepherd Mix
Reproductive: Spayed
Vaccinations: Fully Vaccinated
Microchipped: Yes
My Story:
During a search for a dog, one of our volunteers discovered Ella and her puppy Laynie, who had been abandoned in a remote area, with only a frayed rope around Ella’s neck; a sight too common in the regions surrounding Bakersfield, CA.
The volunteer successfully managed to secure Laynie, but Ella, fiercely protective of her puppy, proved to be a bit more challenging to catch. Despite her proximity to the volunteer’s vehicle, her concern for her pup made her hesitant to approach. Eventually, we were able to safely secure Ella as well, allowing us to lead both dogs away from this desolate area.
About Me:
Ella may initially appear shy, but she gradually becomes more comfortable around people while keeping a watchful eye on her puppy. She interacts well with other dogs and would thrive in a nurturing home environment.
My Status: Adopted

Rescue Partners
One of the most critical needs for our team are partners with the ability to help house Bakersfield Strays dogs upon being picked up. We have limited space and ability to hold them for long periods of time and our expertise is more generally suited for partnerships with larger private adoption agencies that can become a liaison between us and the forever homes of the dogs. We do have a process for becoming a partner that ensures they are going to remain happy and healthy in loving homes. If you are interested in helping us overcome this crisis and you have the ability to facilitate the adoption process n our behalf, please apply to become one of our valued partners. You can find the steps to doing so at the link below.
