Bakersfield Strays Dog Rescue Success Stories
Dog rescue success stories. The profiles below feature dogs that have been adopted by a loving family or placed with an animal rescue partner. If a dog is with a rescue partner, they may still need a permanent home. If you’re interested in adopting one of these dogs, we’re happy to provide more information on a specific dog or connect you with our adoption partner. If you need some additional information on how to care for your rescue dog you can check out some of our blogs about nurturing their health.

Microchipped: Yes
My Story:
Four Months. One Determined Feeder. One Dog Finally Safe.
Hnoss was found roaming the canal banks on the south side of Bakersfield, CA. Because of the difficult terrain and limited access, Animal Control was unable to safely secure her.
But Hnoss wasn’t forgotten. One of our dedicated feeders refused to give up. Day after day, she showed up to feed Hnoss, patiently earning her trust—one meal, one visit, and one small step at a time.
For four long months, she kept showing up. And finally, Hnoss was secured and brought to safety.
About Me:
Before Hnoss was ever trapped, a wonderful couple who already had shepherds of their own reached out to us. They told us that if we could get Hnoss to safety, they wanted to give her a home. After four long months of surviving on the canal banks, Hnoss finally had someone waiting for her.
Today, Hnoss is living the life she deserved all along — safe, loved, and surrounded by a family who opened their hearts to her.

Rescue Partners
One of the most critical needs for our team are partners with the ability to help house Bakersfield Strays dogs upon being picked up. We have limited space and ability to hold them for long periods of time and our expertise is more generally suited for partnerships with larger private adoption agencies that can become a liaison between us and the forever homes of the dogs. We do have a process for becoming a partner that ensures they are going to remain happy and healthy in loving homes. If you are interested in helping us overcome this crisis and you have the ability to facilitate the adoption process n our behalf, please apply to become one of our valued partners. You can find the steps to doing so at the link below.
