Bakersfield Strays Dog Rescue Success Stories
Dog rescue success stories. The profiles below feature dogs that have been adopted by a loving family or placed with an animal rescue partner. If a dog is with a rescue partner, they may still need a permanent home. If you’re interested in adopting one of these dogs, we’re happy to provide more information on a specific dog or connect you with our adoption partner. If you need some additional information on how to care for your rescue dog you can check out some of our blogs about nurturing their health.
SLOANE

Name: SLOANE
Age: 8 M
Sex: Female
Weight: 43
Breed: Carolina Dog Mix
Reproductive: Spayed
Vaccinations: Fully Vaccinated
Microchipped: Unknown
My Story:
Sloane was first seen roaming the streets outside of Lamont, CA. A couple of weeks later, our team spotted her again as she was leaving one of the food stations maintained by our volunteers. As Sloane turned to head back toward the busy street, one of our feeders whistled.
What happened next is something we will never forget.
Without hesitation, Sloane came running and leapt straight into the arms of our volunteers as if she knew, in that very moment, that she was finally safe. She didn’t fight. She didn’t hesitate. She simply surrendered herself to the people reaching out to help her.
And just like that… Sloane was safe
About Me:
Sloane is the sweetest, most mellow girl with a gentle personality that makes everyone who meets her fall in love. With the help of a wonderful shelter volunteer networking her, Sloane was given the chance she had been waiting for. She left the shelter and headed to another rescue, where her next chapter could finally begin.
After everything she has been through, Sloane is now one step closer to the happy, safe, and loving forever life she deserves.

Rescue Partners
One of the most critical needs for our team are partners with the ability to help house Bakersfield Strays dogs upon being picked up. We have limited space and ability to hold them for long periods of time and our expertise is more generally suited for partnerships with larger private adoption agencies that can become a liaison between us and the forever homes of the dogs. We do have a process for becoming a partner that ensures they are going to remain happy and healthy in loving homes. If you are interested in helping us overcome this crisis and you have the ability to facilitate the adoption process n our behalf, please apply to become one of our valued partners. You can find the steps to doing so at the link below.
